Japan Round Two

Friday, February 14, 2003

So I realize that I am no longer in Japan. Or the Far East. That probably means that I should change the name of this blogger. But I'm not going to! My heart is still in the Far East, and I am going back, so it really is fairly appropriate. Anyone who wants to lodge a complaint can call my customer service office and complain to them.

On other notes: Life seems to be going so much better. When I returned from Japan everything was a whirlwind. I was only in the US for 3 nights before leaving for South Africa. Then when I got back I wen through culture shock. But I had been away from Japan for 3 weeks, so I felt weird going through culture shock. But it still happened. I had trouble adjusting to people driving on the right side of the road (as opposed to the left, not the wrong). The size of sodas (or pops) in McDonalds were too big. I didn't get rice every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I loved having rice everyday. It seems funny but plain white steamed rice has almost become a comfort food for me. But now, finally, I feel as though I have adjusted. My life is on track. I know where I am and where I want to be going in the future. That makes me happy. I love my friends too!
