Fukui feels like a giant party as of late. The cherry blossoms are starting to fall from the trees (they weren't up there long) and they look like confetti. The ground has turned white from all the cherry blossoms, the river is also turning white and the air is full of petals floating around. I really feel like I'm in the middle of a confetti fest. They are still setting up stages on the river and having a million events though- the Japanese aren't going to let a little thing like the cherry blossoms going away ruin their party!
Sunday John and I were walking along the river and a group of Japanese people invited us to join their party/picnic. They had a tent set up with little portable heaters, chairs, food and a life time supply of alcohol. It was a great way to experience the Japanese-style picnic. They invited us to come to the beach with them this summer so we can experience the Japanese style beach outing.
