Panama Canal
In the jungle, raindrops tickle my belly
I float between oceans
Kissed by bubbles and buoyed in music
Drifting past is the work of men
Thousands died for our easy passage
Wars were fought
Land was stolen
Yet today we pass
Unfettered
Swimming in water siphoned from the Atlantic
I make my way slowly into the Pacific
Laying weightless in the middle of the earth
In the middle of nowhere
In the jungle
In the jungle, raindrops tickle my belly
I float between oceans
Kissed by bubbles and buoyed in music
Drifting past is the work of men
Thousands died for our easy passage
Wars were fought
Land was stolen
Yet today we pass
Unfettered
Swimming in water siphoned from the Atlantic
I make my way slowly into the Pacific
Laying weightless in the middle of the earth
In the middle of nowhere
In the jungle
